The 2024 Nollywood International Beauty Pageant, Miss Hassan Ozohu – Salisu, has said that she is ready embark to on fixing 64,000 potholes in the 36 state in the country.
Salihu disclosed this statement on Monday during an interaction with members of correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, kogi Chapter in Lokoja.
She said; “The patching project is one of my pet projects, aimed at saving lives.
As a beauty queen, I am worried and concerned over the number of accidents and lives lost due to potholes on roads across the country.
This is why Nollywood International, in conjunction with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), is embarking on filling up 64,000 potholes across our roads.”
According to her, collaboration with the Federal Safety Corps (FRSC) is been established to enable road users adhere to life saving tips when in use, adding that the two projects aim is to save lives and properties in the country.
“The corps is to ensure that drivers don’t drink and drive in line with our “Operation Don’t Drink and Drive Programme.”
However, still speaking at the Chapel, Salihu stated another project she called ‘No to Sex for Marks Syndrome,’ which she mentions would be introduced to tertiary institutions.
She said, “We are meeting with vice chancellors and lecturers to ensure that the syndrome is eradicated to enable our young girls walk with their shoulders high and fulfil their God given destinies.’’
