A leading socio-political organisation, Afenifere has summoned the Yoruba, including progressives governors, deputies, political leaders and former public office holders across the country over the presidential aspiration of All Progressives Congress (APC) standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The group called for unity among the Yoruba ahead of the meeting.
It advised them to ensure victory for Tinubu in the 2023 general election.
A statement by the spokesman for the socio-political group, Adebayo Fasanmi, said the meeting was scheduled to hold today in Ile-Ife, Osun State, to deliberate on Tinubu’s candidature.
He said: “The meeting will be held at the home of former deputy governor of Osun State, Prince Adeleke Adewoyin, with the agenda to promote the candidacy of Tinubu.
“Yoruba sons and daughters must attend the meeting with united minds to promote Tinubu because northerners promoted the emergence of southern presidential candidate.
“We urge progressive leaders- incumbent governors, deputies, ex-political office holders, lawmakers and others to attend the meeting,” he said.
