The Governorship Candidate of the Action Alliance Party in Oyo State, Mr. Olaniyi Ajekiigbe has assured citizens that he will deliver good governance if elected at the 2023 poll.

He also promised to ensure adequate security, quality education, development and create jobs for youths in the State.

Ajekiigbe said this while delivering his manifesto during a press conference at the party’s Secretariat on Tuesday.

According to him, there is a need to improve the living standard of the average Nigerians while also ensuring the protection of life’s and properties and this is attainable through good governance.

He said his administration will avail citizens the opportunity of participating in the process of governance than his predecessors.

Speaking further, the AA Candidate described the state of the nations education system as shameful and scandalous which Chief Obafemi Awolowo laid (6) six decades ago.

“As a beneficiary of free and compulsory education in the 1960s I remain eternally grateful to Chief Awolowo. I will replicate same for the benefit of our children’s.

“Without educating our children with basic knowledge, we cannot build any secured future for them. It is a crime for parents not to enroll their children in our schools, adding that teachers will be retrained and wages paid in due course.”

The AA flag bearer promised that if elected, the Action Alliance government in Oyo State will among other things, focus on job creation, wealth creation, provision of infrastructure such as roads, water, and electricity as well as the creation of good education.

“Nigeria and our state have been experiencing investment flights because of pervading insecurity and local economy is suffering existential blow. As the chief security of our state, I will ensure life and properties, weeding of our forest of criminal elements. Ensuring that Nigerians from other parts of the country are documented, integrated to become part of our database for development planning”.

He also expressed concern on the increasing rate of corruption in the country, stressing that such situations will be addressed during his administration.

“As your governor, I will lead by example, I will ensure that our limited resources are used for the common goals and every Kobo accounted through a directorate of accountability that will be established and manned by professionals to give feedback to the government and for the people to monitor the activities of our administration.

“Jobs and wealth will be created by assembly intelligent people of Oyo State both men and women, through this medium, development is guaranteed.

“Under my watch, all hands shall be on deck. Together, let’s embark on this new journey to prosperity, peace, security, development. We shall create the Oyo State of our dream” he added.

In the same vein, the Senatorial candidate for the party, vying for Oyo South, Mr Adewale Aderinto, describe the state of the nation’s economy as a “terrible situation”.

According to him, the situation has been worsened as a result of bad leadership who lacks the capacity to manage the country’s resources.

“The masses can no longer afford a standard meal per day. The health sector is in shamble. The education sector is dying daily vis-a-vis the agricultural sector which is majorly dependent upon for food production. The worst of it all is the rising insecurity in virtually all the geopolitical zones.

“Looking at the current situation in the country, the only hope of the masses after God is to do a thorough reengineering of our political system and this can only be achieved by shifting from our old system whereby we vote for party without looking at the pedigree and credibility of candidates.

He however urged the people to vote wisely at the 2023 poll.

“As a thorough bred professional, my primary objective is to see how to champion a bill on how to reduce the cost of governance, he said.

He promised if elected into office, he will alleviate poverty, through community poverty reduction programs and also to improve the health system in the state through provision of basic health services to people in the rural and urban areas.
