As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prepares ahead the 2019 Election nationwide, the Commission has commenced the recruitment of Tertiary institution Students as Adhoc Staff in Sokoto State.
The Sokoto State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mallam Abubakar Musa made the disclosure during the Courtesy Visit of the Students Union Government, Sokoto State University to the Commissioner in Sokoto today (Thursday)
The commissioner while urging the students to always ensure decency in their endeavours explained that the recruitment process was to also encourage the students participation in the 2019 election.
According to him, the recruitment which started at the Usman Danfodio University will also be extended to the State University.
While speaking to Campus Focus, the Student Union President Comr. Lukman Iliyasu said the students participation as Adhoc staff will further increase the knowledge of the students in electoral activities as well as boost their financial strength for their needs in school.
He however commended the Commissioner for extending the gesture to the state owned institution.
Among those present at the Visit is the Institution Dean Student Affairs Dr. Nasiru Ibrahim Tambuwal, SUG Secretary General Naziru Bello, the PRO Aminu Muhd isa, Speaker SRA Ibrahim sahabi and the Deputy speaker Farida Almustapha Wurno
