Bauchi monarch kidnapped, killed by gunmen

After being abducted from his palace three days ago, Alh Garba Badamasi, the village head of Riruwai in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate in Toro LGA of Bauchi State, is said to have been killed.  

According to information obtained, the gunmen broke into the neighborhood on Friday, March 15. The village’s traditional title holder, who verified the development, claimed that the monarch was their intended target.  

He claimed that after frightening the villagers away with indiscriminate gunfire, they kidnapped the village head. 

Before Badamasi was discovered dead near the village, several local stakeholders had begun a hunt for him. 

On Sunday, March 17, his body was brought to the District Head of Lame’s palace in Gumau for funeral prayers and burial in compliance with Islamic edicts. 

He added that the late Alh. Garba Badamasi was kidnapped and held captive for a day before being brutally murdered and having his body thrown around the hamlet.
